In face of rapid development in the21st century, with people’s living standardunceasing enhancement, the status of the knowledge economy is becoming more and moreimportant.Scientific inquiry has entered the teaching in classroom following the steps ofera. Scientific inquiry as the breach of the new curriculum reform, is not only the importantcontent of students’ learning in middle school, but also an important way of teaching inchemistry’s classroom. Based on questionnaire survey to explore the implementation ofscientific inquiry in chemistry’s classroom of midlle school, the author found someinfluence on the effectiveness of scientific inquiry. If scientific inquiry is invalid, it directlyaffect the efficiency of teaching, thus affecting the smooth implementation of the newcurriculum reform. So the study of the effectiveness of scientific inquiry is an urgent thing.Through in-depth analysis of the questionnaire and extensive searching and readingthe literature about effective implementation of the scientific inquiry, the auther study fromtwo aspects of theory and practice surrounding this topic. In the eight elements of scientificinquiry, the author study focusing on three core elements-questions, assumptions anddesign of experiments. In order to improve the present teaching in classroom andimplement new curriculum reform smoothly, effective strategy of implementation, effectivestandard and principle of design etc,are studied. At the same time, the auther put forwardher own opinions.what’s more, the auther design some cases about scientific inquirycombining the study to theory, and implement them in the real classroom smoothly, whichare welcomed by students and praised by the teachers.By the study: To implement scientific inquiry effectively in chemistry teaching inmiddle school, we must pay attention to the validity of the guess, the validity of theassumptions and the effectiveness of the design of experiment, which directly relate to theeffectiveness of scientific inquiry. To develop questions, hypothesis and experimentaldesign effectively, the joint efforts of students and teachers are needed. Students as themain body of the classroom, should be good at thinking, bold to question, improve method, train the ability of hypothesis and design each experiment as much as possible. They notonly should try to learn scientific and cultural knowledge, but also broaden the horizonsthrough extensive reading extracurricular books and taking part in some extra-curricularactivities to lay the foundation for the effective development of scientific inquiry. Asorganizers of classroom’s activities, teachers also should create good situation of problemfor students, provide some method to hypothesis and experimental design and encouragestudents to explore.Besides, teachers not only enrich their professional knowledge throughcontinuous learning, but also take active part in some scientific research and teachingtraining to change the backward educational idea and improve their teaching skills andability of management. Effectively, through scientific inquiry, teaching efficiency will begreatly improved, the students’ ability of knowledge and scientific literacy will get trained, teachers’ professional level and teaching ability will be enhanced obviously.
