Since reading has always been a difficulty for Chinese learning in middle school,therefore, reading text in examination has become a focus of all Chinese teachers.However, the fixed exam patterns and the conventional teaching method that hold themain position for a long time restrict not only teaching but also the affective experienceand cognitive comprehension of students. Students will not be able to feel the beauty ofthe entire article if reading course is always tedious. Students will lose their readinginterests and abilities if reading examination is always unchangeable.In the first place, the thesis describes the current situation of Chinese mid-term test,clarifies the important position of reading in Chinese exam, and studies test patterns ofboth classical Chinese and modem context. Then the thesis analyzes the mid-termChinese tests in recent five years, summarizes and compares the proportion of classicalChinese, expository prose, narrative writing, and argumentative writing by taking anexample of Harbin. The problem of the teaching of reading course is derived from classand reflected on test. Therefore, by researching100test papers of Grade4in middleschool, we find teaching problems and tries to come up with examination composingsuggestions. Classical Chinese reading focuses on memory test. Reading test is anappraisal method of learning outcomes, and reading teaching makes students improveability. At last, the thesis comes up with some solutions for reading course teachingrevolving around the topic of reading test and teaching conceptions. Under the guidanceof quality education, the Chinese teachers should give up outdated concept and methods;they should teach students by scientific and innovative method to feel reading by heartand love life by soul.
