This thesis makes a research on counselors organizational commitment in independentcolleges based on an example of the independent colleges in Guangzhou. The thesis aims atputting forward suggestions for the improvement of the independent college counselorsorganizational commitment through conducting the relative questionnaire among the instructorsin six independent institutes in Guangzhou, having interviews with them, analyzing thedifferences of the counselors organizational commitment in terms of demographic variables andthe differences of the level of the organizational commitment on organizational commitmentdimensions, as well as discussing factors affecting the counselors organizational commitmentlevel in the independent colleges.Conclusion has been drawn after the research, that is, the independent college counselorsorganizational commitment is at a medium level in general, with emotional commitment rankingthe highest level. Then, normative commitment, ideal commitment, economic commitment,opportunity commitment, economic commitment and opportunity commitment respectively rankthe second place, among which the level of economic commitment and opportunity commitmentare below the overall average. The counselors of different genders, ages, and administrative postshave significant differences on affective commitment; The counselors of different genders,marital status, educational backgrounds, and time engaged in the counselors work possessimportant differences in opportunity commitment; The counselors of different ages, titles ownremarkable differences in the ideal commitment; And the counselors of different ages, titles, postproperties and administrative jobs hold vital differences on economic commitment. In thisresearch, there are no obvious discrepancies of demographic variables on normativecommitment.
