This study takes our country’s traditional planting mulberry and raisingsilk-worm as a main line, guided by the related theory such as construction ofschool-based curriculum and group cooperation investigation study, relies on therequirements of course objectives and course contents on Compulsory EducationBiology Curriculum Standard (2011)for junior school biology, combines the resourcesuperiority of mulberry and sericultural in Yunnan province with local students’characteristics and development requirements, and uses the framework of WisconsinFast Plant research system as references. Based on these, the paper appliesinstructional design theory to systematically constructing junior school biologyschool-based curriculum with planting mulberry and raising silk-worm as theprincipal line.The main contents of the study contains analyzing course constructionenvironmental,designing course objectives,choosing course contents,implementingand assessing the school-based course and so on. The study aims to realize theschool-based course idea which is to inherit the national culture, participate tocooperation positively, cultivate inquiry method, popularize biology knowledge andimprove biological science literacy. Under the background of group cooperativeinquiry learning, this article is committing to improving the students’ cooperationspirit and exploring ability, cultivating students’ interest in biology and the feelings ofloving their motherland and hometown as well as the sense of historical responsibilityof inheriting traditional culture of Chinese nation.The results are as follows. During compulsory education of biological teachingcontents, using the biology course resources around us, based on constructing andimplementing junior school biology school-based curriculum with planting mulberryand raising silk-worm as key line, the way is feasible to permeate traditional cultureeducation over biology education. The construction of junior school biologyschool-based curriculum with planting mulberry and raising silk-worm as a main linecan reach the requirements of course objectives and contents on CompulsoryEducation Biology Curriculum Standard(2011). After implementing the junior school biology school-based curriculum with planting mulberry and raising silk-wormas key line, students’ exploring ability, cooperation and communication ability as wellas interest in studying biology was significantly improved, the instruction contentswhich combine with the local curriculum resources are popular with students andreceived students’ support. The implementation of the junior high school biologyschool-based curriculum with planting mulberry and raising silk-worm as principalline, faces to all students and fully improves students’ biological science literacy.
