Since the new educational reform, inquiry-based learning has become an importantmethod for students’ active learning and scientific inquiry inside the classroom and outside.Junior high school biology strongly advocates inquiry-based learning which encouragedteachers to integrate the concept of scientific inquiry into education and teaching. In thismanner, teachers are able to actively carry out extensive inquiry-based learning activities toenhance students’ interest in learning biology. In the meantime, inquiry-based learning willstimulate students’ creative thinking of scientific. Technology has been constantly one of themost important ways to promote educational reform.This thesis analyzes the status how QR code technology has applied in education.Based on the results of how QR code technology could supported learning activities tojunior high school biology inquiry-based learning activities, we explored the better teachingformula combined with QR code. Under the guidance of constructivist learning theory andcontext learning theory, the junior high school biology in accordance with the generalprocess of inquiry learning could take full advantages of the characteristics of QR codetechnology. We designed inquiry-based learning activities inside the classroom and outside.A case study of a biology education course was conducted at the Museum of NaturalHistory in Changchun. The results show that the QR code implementation of activities hastechnically supported the inquiry-based learning and helped students stimulate interests andmaintain learning motivation. The results of the investigation also showed that using QRcode in learning has a higher degree of acceptance and satisfaction from a technical point ofview.This study enriches the forms and methods for junior high school biological activitieson inquiry-based learning, and enhances the students’ learning experiences. It has alsoprovided new ideas and references for the application of QR code technology on education,promoted the process of using QR code in teaching.
