The Relate Research On The Optimistic Personality And Job Performance Of College PE Teachers

With the development of positive psychology in recent years, optimistic personality, as a positive and stable personality, gradually to draw the wide attention of some related experts. It is the individual’s perception tendency of reality and future, also the important quality and experience of positive psychology. The present domestic research has suggested that the optimistic personality has a close relationship with individual mental and physical health, but what effect will the positive psychology bring about on the job and academic performance, this will need further research.In knowledge economy era, the scale of higher education is being expanded and the requirement of the teaching quality improved, so the teacher’s competition is increasingly fierce. Since the ancient times, schools are paying more attention on knowledge and inteligence than sports, and nowadays this notion is still widespread, so the physical education teachers are facing a huge psychology pressure, and this will lead to some phenomenon like interpersonal tension, low productivity, giving up the scientific research,etc. Physical education teachers are the main part of the sports work, their work quality and teaching target affect the whole quality of the school education. We can study the college physical education teachers’ performance from the perspective of psychology combined with the management, make the psychology positively affect the teachers’ performance, and then exert their potential and improve the teaching quality.This reasearch uses the literature materials, questionnaire investigation, logic analysis, mathematical statistics and other research methods, uses “optimistic personality tendency questionnaire” and “teachers’ job performance questionnaire”, according to the distribution of schools in each city, and research control condition, randomly choose some physical education teachers from the 21 selected colleges or universities from Henan Province, comprehensively evaluating their optimistic personality and work performance. This study also applies the statistical software SPSS17.0 for independent samples T test, single factor analysis of variance, correlation analysis, regression analysis and Excel 2007 statistical analysis,etc. Find the correlation between the PE teachers’ optimistic personality and work performance. This study has found that:(1)Optimistic personality tendency questionnaire includes two dimensions, pessimistic and optimistic, a total of 10 projects. This questionnaire total internal consistency coefficient is 0.682, retest reliability is 0.624. Confirmed that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity, and conform to the requirements of the measurement.(2)There’s no significant difference on the positive factor among the college PE teachers in different gender, but there’s significant differences among the PE teachers’ who are in different ages, degrees and tiles.(3)There are no differences in performance level among the physical education teachers from colleges and universities who are in different gender, ages, degrees. There’re significant differences among the physical education teachers who are in different titles in task performance and work dedication, but there are no significant differences in interpersonal promotion.(4)Optimistic personality of college PE teachers’ has a direct prediction effect on their work performance, there is a positive correlation between them.
