Objectives:The adults aged 40-64 years has a high incidence of overweight and obese. It’s important for them to control weight by exercise. The intensity corresponding to the fat metabolism peak value within a unit time is called maximum fat metabolism intensity (Fatmax). The older with different fat% may get different Fatmax based on the fat metabolism characteristics. To access the different maximum fat metabolism intensity in the older with different body fat percent. To explore the the influence factors of Fatmax.Methods:209 healthy person(122males,87females)aged 40-64 years were recruited. To investigate and access the subjects’ physical activity levels, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle percentage and the maximum fat metabolism intensity. To analyze the relationships between those factors and Fatmax. Subjects were divided into underweight, normal, overweight and obesity group according to the body fat percentage, determine the diversity of Fatmax among these four groups. Subjects were divided into lower, middle and senior group according to the skeletal muscle percentage, determine the diversity of Fatmax among these three groups. To explore the influence factors of the older maximum intensity of fat metabolism by factor analysis and hierarchical regression.Results:1、The Fatmax of men is lower than female (P<0.01); 2、Body fat percentage were positively related to the Fatmax(r1=0.312, P<0.01; r2=0.276, P=0.01).3、In Comparison with the low and middle groups, the senior group with high skeletal muscle percentage was significantly higher(rl=-0.471, P<0.01; r2=-0.405, P<0.01).4. V02max were negative related to the Fatmax(r=-0.329, P<0.01).5、The main factor influencing the Fatmax of male was skeletal muscle percentage, followed byVO2max, age, body fat percentage. The main factor influencing the Fatmax of male was V02max, followed by, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle percentage, age. Conclusion:The best exercise intensity for male who is in underweight, normal, overweight and obesity group to lose weight was 36%、41%、46%、 52% VO2max, for femal was38%、46%、49%、53% VO2max. The exercise intensity should be higher for the person who get the higher fat percentage or lower skeletal muscle percentage. The main factor influencing the Fatmax of of male was skeletal muscle percentage, female is V02max. The exercise intensity of 3-6 MET by ACSM recommended is suitable for middle-aged and old people to control weight.
