With the rapid popularization of information all over the world, Information technology has been popularized in various industries, especially in the teaching. Because the information technology education has been emphasized constantly in different countries, it has become an important and indispensible part of modern teaching.In China, the rural population accounts for over half of the population. The rural students who live in the economic less-developed areas are also a large-scale group. From the view of developing information technology education, there are a certain distances of the school information construction between the urban and rural areas. Although our country has supplied the funds and facilities, the establishment and construction of information technology education didn’t reach the expectation in advance, due to the lack of education resources and professional teachers, and so on.This thesis attempts to adopt the main research methods including the empirical study and literature review. The empirical study consists of individual interview, questionnaire and observation. Firstly, the author attended and visited a class in a local primary, in order to observe the real condition of the school information technology construction and the status of information technology course. Through the interviewing the teachers including professional and different courses teachers, students and the school leaders, the author grasped the condition of information technology among teachers and the effectiveness of knowledge among students. And through the reading a lot of literature, the author investigated the development of information technology. Secondly, the different questionnaires were sent to teachers and students by the author. The analyzed results indicate that the establishment in the field of information technology has been improved constantly, but the usage rate and effectiveness is dissatisfactory. There aren’t professional information teachers in most of schools and few of teachers who teach other courses can master the information technology in teaching. Furthermore, the traditional teaching methods still has been used in daily teaching and multimedia teaching equipments have been kept unused. Finally, the author analyzed the reasons why the development of information technology course lags behind in rural primary schools, and presented the relevant solutions and countermeasures.
