Safety needs associate with the full process of man’s development history Safety is a prerequisite to social development and the guarantee of mankind’s individual subsistence and development. Campus, which is a place of imparting knowledge and educating people, needs a good environment and stable order. The construction of campus safety is an important part of building a harmonious campus. In the last few years, campus safety hazards keep increasing and various safety accidents occur frequently, endangering the lives and properties of teachers and students. The campus safety has raised concerns from the government, safety circle and schools again. To optimize campus safety management, regulate campus safety education and promote safety culture construction of college campuses by using modern safety technology and management methods is of great significance in improving campus safety, decreasing campus safety accidents and reducing the severity and influence of the consequence of campus accidents.By analyzing the causes of and possible paths to accidents, the paper classifies campus accidents into several types, including falling accidents from high place, mechanical injuries, electric hazards, fire explosions, object strike, risk factors of traffic accidents, sport injury, poisoning and other injury accidents. According to the systematic, scientific, feasible and enlightening principles for the establishment of indicator system, the paper also refers to relative laws, policies, standards and current research actuality concerning campus safety and extensively consults opinions and suggestions from involved experts and interviews experts and students at school. Thus, the assessment indicator system for camps safety accidents is generalized and the weight of each indicator is determined by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) as well. At the end of this paper, it proves the feasibility and reliability of established assessment indicator system for camps safety accidents to make the results as close as possible to the present situation of evaluation objects and provide reliable basis for decision-making.This paper studies on campus safety from theory and practice. In practice, it makes a comprehensive analysis of the campus safety in Fuzhou University through field investigation, questionnaire survey, interviews and so on; while in theoretical aspect, it adopts some theories and methods, such as safety system engineering, safety man-machine engineering and organizational behavior, to make a comprehensive analysis of campus safety risk and verifies the effectiveness and reliability of established assessment indicator system for campus safety accidents according to current situation of campus safety and statistical analysis of campus safety accidents. Finally, it lays out several specific measures for controlling and eliminating campus hazards and improving campus safety, which are of great importance for reinforcing campus safety.
