The process of rural modernization drove the changes of the mode of production in villages. And the change of the mode of production is the decisive power of the change of the social structure. This thesis shows the process of the 60 years changing of the mode of production in a village of Central area in Zhejiang Province through the observation method, the interview method and the document method. Within the different periods of history, this village experienced the different ways of mode of production, such as the traditional small-scale peasant production, the collectivized agricultural production, the family-contract responsibility system and the household economy and handicraft workshops together with factory production. During the different periods above, the national force, the market force and the traditional force of the village produced different effects. And the competition of these three kinds of forces drove the mode of production keep on changing. And only when the three forces maintain equilibrium, the countryside mode of production will be relatively stable state.There are five chapters in this paper. The first chapter is the introduction, which describes the research background, literature review, research methods, significance and defining of related concepts. The second chapter introduces the geographical environment, history development, population and economy of the village being researched. The third chapter describes the changes of production mode in village under the collectivization, which introduces the situation of small-hold production before collectivization and the nation deconstructs the smallholder production through the right to speak, and which has a detailed description of the process of establishing a collective mode of agricultural production, and analyses the characteristics of collective production labor and the contradictory value possessed by the membership at that time. The fourth chapter has a highlighted introduction on the changes of village production under market, the analysis of which is from the agricultural production under the implementation of the household contract responsibility system to the rise of family hands workshop and the process of establishing the production way of leaving land without leaving home. The in-depth development of rural industrialization led the villagers shift from farmers to professional workers. Villagers’radius of production activities has been expanded and the social network has been extended. The fifth chapter discusses the logic of the changes in village production, which considers the interaction among the nation, market and village’s tradition is the fundament driving force of production change and initially constructs the model of the process of production change. Through in-depth description of a case to explore the phenomenon of rural modernization process, changes in production methods. Agricultural production to non-agricultural production across the villages in the development process of great change. Not only changed the profession and identity of rural residents, Also makes traditional agricultural production towards recession."No farming villages" in more and more places become a reality. State has to bear the heavy responsibility in the top-level design into full play the role of markets at the same time, while allowing the traditional villages are also involved in the development of rural communities. Effective integration of national markets and the traditional villages of the three forces is an important prerequisite for the operation and benign countryside and ensure coordinated development.
