The theory of Mode Ⅱ Knowledge production was put forward by Gibbons in the book "The New Production of Knowledge:the Dynamics of Science and Research in contemporary Societies" in 1994. It came into being in the context of economic globalization, the rise of knowledge-based economy, the popularization of higher education, the commercialization of higher education research as well as social sciences’participation in the research. The theory of Mode Ⅱ knowledge production has given rise to a wide range of domestic and international repercussions. Mode Ⅱ Knowledge production is considered to be the new trend in the development of higher education. It has produced great influence on higher education system. Along with the expansion of postgraduates’enrollment in China, postgraduate education has gained rapid development these years. Recent years, the government began to pay more attention to its quality improvement. So how to improve the postgraduate education quality is the key of postgraduates’training mode reform. So to study on the influence and inspiration of Mode Ⅱ knowledge production to the reform of postgraduates’training mode is necessary. This study can not only conform to the requirement of higher education’s developing trend, but also do some help to improve the quality of postgraduate education.Firstly, Ⅰ describe the background information and the significance of the topic, the summarization of the research status about Mode Ⅱ Knowledge production and the postgraduates’training mode as well as this paper’s study methods and the main contents. Secondly, introduce the main contents of the theory of Mode Ⅱ knowledge production, including its background, main characteristics and its influences home and abroad. Then, analyze Mode Ⅱ Knowledge production’s influences to postgraduates’training mode. Describe the fact that Mode Ⅰknowledge is the basic of postgraduate students’training mode in China now. Ⅰ deal with the strikes that Mode Ⅱ knowledge production brings to postgraduates’training mode. On basis of this, Ⅰtry to compare the two modes of knowledge production from the aspects of their similarities and differences. Finally, Ⅰ put forward some reform countermeasures and suggestions on how to reform postgraduates’training mode from the aspects of training objectives, training processes and training quality evaluation.Compared with previous studies on Mode II knowledge production, perhaps this studyhas two characteristics:one is that, from the perspective to Mode Ⅱ knowledge production, this paper reviewed Mode Ⅰ knowledge production which is the basic of postgraduates’training mode in China now. And also compares Mode Ⅰ and Mode Ⅱ knowledge production, and their differences to postgraduates’training mode; The other is that I put forward some detailed inspirations that Mode Ⅱ knowledge production brings to postgraduates’training mode, from the aspects of training mode’s consisting components, including training objectives,training processes and training quality evaluation. In the future study, there are two things to be considered. One is about the "critics" on Mode Ⅱ knowledge production. The other is about the relationships between Mode Ⅰ and Mode Ⅱ knowledge production in practice.
