Mathematics in higher grades of Primary school(from grade 4 to 6) is a very special period. Physical, psychological, intellectual of ten-year-old children have qualified the basic conditions of self-learning abilities. During this period, children are in rebellion, the attitudes of learning mathematics are totally different. Interests, habits and abilities of learning mathematics will have a significant and long-term influence on learning mathematics infuture.This paper based on the reference of ideas and theories of education at home and abroad,combined with practical mathematics education experiences in special period of affiliated primary school(from grade 4 to 6) in a university, proposed self-learning ability training mode of primary school in higher grades, taking self-exploration as the core, personalized hierarchical teaching as a mean, and ‘triplicity’variety of resources as the characteristic.Through in-depth analysis on the cases of primary mathematics teaching practical classes of affiliated primary school in a university, to explore the objective laws of self-learning ability cultivation, to try to form an effectiveself-learning ability training mode in primary mathematics in higher grades, to bring some certain reference and guidance of primary mathematics teaching practice.This paper is divided into four chapters to explore self-learning ability cultivation of primary mathematics in higher grades. The paper propose the problems of self-learning ability cultivation of primary mathematics in higher grades, explained the basis of ideas and theories which can resolve this problem. Taking this as guidance and built general mode of self-learning ability cultivation. The objective of this mode is to cultivate learning ability, the basic principle is self-exploration, the major means is personalized hierarchical teaching,and an important feature is the‘triplicity’self-learning ability cultivation system. Then wecarry out three-year primary mathematicsself-learning innovative experimental classesin higher grades of an affiliated primary school in a university as a case, to analyzeand summarize the practical experiences of application mode.Specifically, classified the mathematics in children’s eyes into four parts, they are knowledge, interests, lives and competition.On the basis of the understanding of children, classified their learning characteristics into four parts, they are genius, industrious, follow-up, and transformed.We explore the cultivation methods of interests and enthusiasm on learning mathematics, especiallythe use of a personalized hierarchical teachingwhichachievesdifferential questions, differential assignmentanddifferential learning courage. We summarize four stages during the cultivation process of children’s self-awareness; they are induction, growth, maturity, and innovation.
