The development of The Times, the reform of the curriculum, the needs of individual lifelong learning and the characteristics of mathematics itself require students to have the ability of independent learning. By collating and analyzing existing literature, the study that the ability of independent learning of mathematics about the elementary school higher grades students is not concrete and deep enough in our country,on which I establish a foothold in the study. This study, aiming at identifying the main problems of the current elementary school mathematics in high school students’ self-learning ability, analyzing its influencing factors, finally puts forward effective countermeasures of training students’ independent learning ability of mathematics. This study consists of the following sections:The first part mainly includes the questions, the research of theory and significance, the related research both at home and abroad and definition of the core concepts, on the basis of the research I determine the ideas and methods of the study. The second part consists of the investigation of the elementary school higher grades students’ mathematical ability of independent learning at present situation, analysis and fining the existing problems. The third part carefully analyzes internal factors and external factors of the existing problems about the elementary school higher grades students independent learning ability of mathematics. Finally from the perspective of students, teachers, schools and families,this study puts forward some methods improving the ability of independent learning: Students should play an active role, promote mathematics independent learning ability; Teachers should strengthen the independent learning theory, improve teaching level; The school attaches great importance to the independent learning, actively implement the new standard requirements; Parents should optimize the environment at home to improve their accomplishment. This study hope to effectively improve the condition of the elementary school higher grades students mathematics independent learning ability, promote students’ all-round development and lifelong development.
