A student’s academic record depends on his study habits. For a long time, people only focus on student’s academic record but ignore the cultivation of the students’ good learning habits. But good study habits play an important role in students’ learning, comprehensive quality and lifelong learning. As a basic subject, Chinese affects other subjects’ learning. Therefore, good habits of Chinese learning not only have important role in promoting students’ Chinese learning but also promote the learning of student’s other subjects. What makes us worried is that students’ learning habits are not optimistic and cultivating students’ good habits of Chinese learning is imminent.According to a large number of literature and combining with the observation in the process of internship, the author designed the questionnaire about the current situation of Chinese learning habits in the elementary school second—high grade students in the urban area of Changsha. Then the author uses statistical methods to analyze the results and finds the problems and reasons existing in the students’ Chinese learning habits of listening, speaking, reading, writing and observing. And some suggestions are also given to solve these problems.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first part introduces the background, purpose and meaning of the research, and literature review. What’s more, it defines the Chinese learning habits and comes up with methods of the research. The second part introduces the theory of research, the design of methods and the preparation, implementation and data processing of the questionnaire. The third part collects the situation of the respondents, analyses the situation of elementary school second—high grades students’ Chinese learning habits about listening, speaking, reading, writing and observing in urban areas, and analyzes the cause of the current situation of schools,teachers and students. The fourth part presents the suggestions for current situation of schools, teachers, students and the family. The author hopes that it can provide the reference for cultivating students’ good Chinese learning habits.
