With the rapid development of economy and acceleration of urbanization,cities continuously expand which leads to more and more rural-urban fringe areas.Thus,urban-rural fringe schools come into being.The students mix in urban-rural fringe schools are very complex.Some students come from cities while the most are the children of migrant workers,whose various study habits complicate problems in education.“Actions form habits.Habits decide the character,and the character fixes our destinies.” The old saying shows how important habits to destinies are.The primary school stage is a key period for the development of good learning habits.And the lower grade is the beginning of the critical period.It is only by developing the good study habits for children that they can benefit them all their lives.Therefore,it is of theoretical and practical significance to study in urban and rural fringe areas.This paper takes low-grade students of a primary school in the urban and rural fringe of Dalian Jinpu New District as the study object.It compares their pre-school learning habits,the classroom learning habits and the post-school learning habits of the low-grade students with the study habits of ones in city schools by using the observation method,the interview method and the questionnaire method.Thus the paper gets the main characters of study habits of students in rural-urban fringe areas.Then it analyzes main factors that influence the students' learning habits of the low-grade students in the urban and rural fringe areas combined with my many years of educational practice and the interviews with different objects and questionnaire contents,such as students factors,family factors,school factors and social factors.Based on the reasons of the problems and educational practice,lots of strategies are put forward to develop the learning habits of lower grade students in the urban and rural fringe areas.For instance,in students' education,we should stimulate the students' interest in learning and seize the critical period to cultivate a good writing habits;In family education,parents should improve the family atmosphere and change their educational concepts;In school education,we should make use of the characteristics of school and the School-based Curriculum to cultivate students' good study habits;In social education,the government and the education department accelerate the realization of education equity.Ultimately,we can make the bad study habits of the lower grade students in urban and rural fringe areas improved.
