“1911 Revolution” has already past over 100 years, Stavrianos said this revolution is one the most great revolutions in the long Chinese history, because it overthrew a two thousand years of feudal monarchy andcreated the first republic country in Asian – Republicc Of China. "1911 Revolution" is always an important chapter in history textbooks. History textbook is the link between teachers and students, for it is playing an significant role in the class of history. In order to analyze and understand the content of textbooks, and then explore the advantages and disadvantages of the exsiting history textbooks, this paper selected some classic high school history textbooks for research, such as Taiwan Nanyi edition, Hanlin edition, KangXi edition and Person teching editon, Yuelu edition and People’s editon. By comparing the descriptions of “1911 revolution” in those textbooks, we hope to find their similarities and differences..This paper is divided into four parts as below.The first chapter introduces the significance of this topic, the research approach and the state of the art of this topic.The second chapter compares the body contents of “1911 Revolution” between the high school history textbooksof Taiwan and Mainland China. First, the history curriculum standards, the background of revolution andthe evaluation of revolution are compared. Secondly, the similarities and differences of some main historical figures listed in the textbooks, especially Sun Yat-sen are compared.The third chapter compares the auxiliary systems between the history textbooks, such as the use of columns setting and pictures.The fourth chapter analyzes the similarities and differences of the textbooks, and then gives recommendations for improvements in the preparation of textbooks and teaching systems.
