In recent years, as the government puts increasingly more attention to the vocational education, higher vocational education in our country has achieved an unprecedented development. Since higher vocational education acts as the cradle that cultivates technology skilled talents for our society, the system of examination and enrollment is of great significance to the development of the higher vocational education. While China’s entering into education popularization stage and the decreasing number of enrollments put forward higher requirements for the quantity and quality of fostering talents in higher vocational colleges. The ministry of education respectively pointed out to “improve the institutions of higher education examination recruitment system”,“conduct the classified entrance examination step by step for higher education institutions”, “ establish education examination and enrollment system conforming to the characteristics of vocational education” in 2010 and 2014. These policies accelerate the pace of establishing independent vocational examination and enrollment system. But due to the fact that establishing higher vocational classified examination and enrollment system is just a hot issue in the nearly two years, the time spent on it is not long. It is still in the exploratory stage at present, only few studies investigated the system of classified examination and enrollment in higher vocational colleges, and the supporting data is seriously lacking. Based on the above shortcomings and requirements, this paper adopts the topic of research on vocational classified examination and enrollment system in our country, expecting to provide theoretical and practical guidance for the construction of our country’s higher vocational classified examination and enrollment system.This paper analyzes and discusses our country’s higher vocational classified examination and enrollment system with the help of literature method, questionnaire investigation and comparative method. Five parts are included in this paper and they organized as follows. The introduction part proposes the question, illustrates the research significance, states the research status, defines the concept and shows the research ideas and methods. Part 2 analyzes the classification of examination and enrollment from three aspects: the type of education, training objectives and curriculum, knowledge type three aspects. Part 3 carries questionnaire surveys on our country’s higher vocational examination and enrollment system, and through statistics and analyzing the survey results, combs the existing problems. Part 4 summarizes the successful experience of vocational classified examination and enrollment system from United States, Britain and Taiwan, and draws many inspirations. The last part, considering the existing problems and drawing lessons from the United States, Britain and Taiwan, tentatively puts forward the framework of our country higher vocational classified examination and enrollment system including entrance exam system, recommend admission system and the open enrollment system, then details the strategy for the implementation of the framework: organize a unified entrance test and establish entrance examination system in higher vocational colleges, enlarge the proportion of students from Professional, Technical and Polytechnic schools, recruit non-traditional students, set up recruitment system which separates from examination admission, establish an outstanding comprehensive evaluation admission criteria and build APL mechanism.
