As the curriculum reform has developed, English teaching has achieved some success. However, some inevitable problems have been gradually revealed.The new curriculum standard is proposed to realize the objectives of English Curriculum in the unity of instrumentalism and humanism in English teaching. This goal puts forward higher requirements for English teachers.In the teaching process, teachers not only pay attention to the basic knowledge of English teaching, but also pay attention to English courses that make students learn more about foreign culture and enhance their connotation.Learning English is also helpful to encourage students to build up correct values and views on their lives. Therefore, it is important for teachers to design a perfect teaching plan and improve English learning efficiency and the professional development of teachers.The so-called heterogeneous is to accomplish the same teaching materials but the teaching content of different design and the idea with class in the teaching process. As a way of teaching and research, “heterogeneous forms for the same subject” avoids the limitations of collective lesson preparation and protruding the main role of teaching and research. By means of comparison and cooperation, such a way can optimize teaching design to improve class efficiency and achieve the goal of “The New Curriculum Reform”. “The New Curriculum Reform” requires the combination of English reading and “heterogeneous forms for the same subject”. Therefore, teachers benefit a lot through such kind of practice, such as the quick improvement of their teaching levels and getting out of the self-development limitation so that facilitating teachers’ professional development.The research of heterogeneous forms for the same subject in teaching English reading comprehension is mainly from three aspects. They are the necessity of heterogeneous forms for the same subject, the analysis of heterogeneous forms for the same subject in teaching English reading comprehension and the optimization of reading comprehension teaching.
