As a consequence of 1895 Sino-Japanese War, Chinese started to seek the way of self-improvement for the country by learning from Japan. Beginning with the first 13 people until the outbreak of war in 1937, the number of students studying in Japan had increased substantially. As a fact, these students had made profound impact on China modern history in many aspects, such as politics, economy, culture, education, literature and art, etc, also including the early political activities in that time. Particularly, this article will explore these students’ influence from the perspective of political campaign.Based on these facts and associated significance, this article will concentrate these students’ effect on early political campaigns in Chinese modern history. It will be started by presenting the characteristic of these students in early stage, and then follows the further analysis of their influence; the whole article contains four parts.The first part is introduction; it is mainly to explore the background and significance of this article by firstly presenting the literature review associated with this topic, and then stating the research approaches and methodology. Moreover, the creative element which is different from previous study will be proposed accordingly with possible defects.The second part is to identify the students studying in Japan as a group. The first is to determine the scope and contents of this part by defining relevant concepts, then summarize and explain the characteristics of the group, finally propose why choose the students studying in Japan as the target group. The main purpose is to find the reason of the rise of the particular group, and reveal the historical inevitability of the formation of the student groups in Japan.The third part is the most important part for this article, which elaborates the actual influence of the students to political campaigns in Chinese modern history. Following the development of history, it firstly introduces that the students in Japan not only had been an important driving force in the process of overthrowing the Qing Dynasty, but also boosted the communist campaign of China later; secondly describe the anti-Japanese campaign initiated by these students on the eve of 1937 war to highlight the special role in that special time for the country, finally give a brief statement of their limitation on influencing the China history.The fourth part summarizes the reflections which can be brought by researching these students. It contains 1) the necessary to emphasize the importance of studying abroad and supporting to expand the scale, 2) the necessary to strengthen ideological education of university Students and to improve the loyalty to our party, 3) the necessary to promote friendly communications between China-Japan youth to create a new relationship of China-Japan.
