It is a stage of development that China is building a moderately prosperous society, and comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. At this time, science and technology are advancing rapidly, overall national strength and competitive power are increasing, thus changes in the social development presents new challenges and requirements for the moral character of the people. However, the junior high school students are in an important period when moral character and values are forming, they urgently need to get the right guidance and effective way to develop the moral character.However in recent years, with the implementation of the new curriculum reform, junior high ideological and moral lessons have exposed some problems in teaching process, such as students’ passive learning in class, neglected status of curriculum, teachers’ inadaptation to the new curriculum requirements, the dominant status of traditional teaching model. These problems prompt us to reflect on how to implement junior high ideological and moral lessons in a better way, and how to achieve the goal of moral education?This thesis investigates and analyzes the faculty aspects of moral lessons, teaching methods, assessment methods, teaching skills, the degree of attention and learning situation through questionnaires and individual interviews from Chongqing No.1 Middle School representing the municipal key middle school in Chongqing Shapingba district and sixty-eight middle school representing key middle school and Chenjiaqiao middle school representing ordinary schools, etc, which are 12 junior school in total. The goal of this paper is to identify the main factors affecting the ideological and ethical lessons, and then come up with specific strategies to solve the problem.
