With national attention to teaching reform, the basic education emphasizes increasingly that we need to train the students’ ability of comprehensive learning. The PBL model for real, complex problems in students’ lives is to stimulate their interest in learning, which also enable them to complete self-construction of knowledge in process of cooperation in exploration, and then improve their independent learning ability, team cooperation ability, information collection ability and problem solving ability with an aim to promote all-round development of students and cultivate students’ basic geographic literacy. This compliance with the teaching reform on students’ training requirements, and also provides a developing direction for elementary education.In response to the call of the teaching reform, this study research on Application of PBL model in geography teaching in Senior High School. Based on the theory research of PBL model, we make a discussion about design and application of case teaching mode of PBL in the geography teaching in Senior High School. Combined with the teaching practice and survey results, make the analysis on the PBL model of teaching effect. Analysis shows that the effect of PBL teaching mode makes a positive effect on the cultivation of students’ interest in learning geography, mobilizing the students’ enthusiasm and cultivating students’ comprehensive learning ability etc. The application of PBL model in high school geography teaching has achieved an expected effect, thus there’s a certain value to advance it.This research mainly includes six parts:First: Combining current situation of high school geography teaching reform with effect of education and trails of the information society to contemporary young people, we determine the direction where PBL mode can be applied to the study of high school geography teaching. We also explain the purpose and significance of the research of PBL Teaching. At last, we make the summary for the research status of PBL model and briefly describe the main research methods used in the research process.Second: To overview the theory of PBL model, summarize the characteristics of PBL model, teaching value, and the theoretical basis.Third: Introduce the PBL mode into the high school geography teaching. Design geography teaching goals and geographic problems accord with the PBL mode. Implement the teaching according to the geography teaching steps of PBL. And adopt the evaluation form for evaluating teaching process.Fourth: Combined with the "soil erosion" test case, expand the application case study of PBL model in geography teaching in senior high school.Fifth: Take the application of PBL mode into the high school geography teaching, and analyze the practical effect of questionnaire by the chance of education practice.Sixth: Summarize the research conclusion and reflection.
