Junior middle school students are in the key period of the balance of physical and mental development. At this stage, it is easy for them to encounter the problem of academic adaptability. Academic adaptability is a kind of psychological ability, with whicha learner, according to the need and variation of learning condition, adjusts personal learning behavior, to adapt to the changing condition and promote the improvement of learning outcome. The previous studies show that a good academic adaptability benefits to students to get a better academic achievement, and it is an important factor for the students with nomal intelligence and low academic adaptability to reach normal level.At present, there are quite a number of junior middle school students having the problem of academic adaptability in our country, so how to improve the academic adaptability is an issue that needed to be addressed as a matter of urgency in junior middle school education.This paper is aimed at improving junior middle school students’academic adaptability and promoting their academic achievement. On the basis of the previous research result, this study reviews the academic adaptability theoretically, generalize the theories frame of academic adaptability, and analysis the present development condition of academic adaptability of junior middle school students and the relationship with academic achievement. This study used the academic adaptability test manual comoiled by Zhou Bucheng as research tool, focusing on some junoior school students from shanghai. Some methods were adopted, such as questionnaire method, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, regression analysis and so on. The following conclusions were drawed:(1) Academic adaptability of the most of junior middle school students are intermediate, there are 31.6% students encountering the problem. The respects of development of academic adaptability are imbalanced.(2) There is significant difference in the development of academic adaptability of junior middle school students between males and females, and the females perform nbetter.(3) There is remarkable difference between different grades in the development of academic adaptability of junior middle school students. And the higher grade, the more decline.(4) There is remarkable difference in the development of academic adaptability of junior middle school students between the students with different academic achievement. The more better of the academic achievement, the more rise.(5) There is a positive correlation between the developmental level and the academic chievement.(6) The two dimensions, including learning attitude and learning technology, have significant positive prediction function about academic chievement.
