Project-based Undergraduate education and training model is one of the diversified education and training models under the mass higher education era and mainly located in colleges and universities’undergraduate students interested in academic researches, especially in teaching-research universities. The essence of the model aims at cultivating and enhancing undergraduates’academic innovation abilities. At present, the main route of the project-based education and training model is an innovative experimented exploration, guiding students to join undergraduates’ innovation and entrepreneurship training project and making students study and research around the subject.In theory, the project-based undergraduate education and training model is an individualized teaching for undergraduates who are interested in academic researches. An idea about the fusions of teaching and scientific research required students to change the idea which is participation of the scientific training is bound to achieve scientific achievements. As the basic idea of undergraduates, Academic freedom is the prerequisites of cultivating undergraduates’ academic cultivation ability. The comprehensiveness of reality project reveals inherent defects of the professional-based education and training model, and also points out the application of the project-based education and training model’s significant meaning for cultivating innovation talents. At the same time, cultivation of self-study ability is the premise of cultivating academic innovation talents. In practice, undergraduates’innovation talents cultivation in America, Britain and other nations, which are focusing on the positive meaning of academic freedom and scientific research training corresponds to ideas of project-based talents training model. Reforms of undergraduates’talents training model in high-level domestic research universities have offered practical experience for reference. And the inner consistency of undergraduates’innovation and entrepreneurship training project and project-based talent training model offers the application conditions and guarantee.However, at present, major -based undergraduate education and training model is mainly applied by domestic universities. This model has defects of single goal of personnel training and students lack of innovation abilities. The basic characteristic is aiming at cultivating advanced professional personnel and adopting fixed training programs and the strong rigidity training system. In consequence, undergraduates have professional orientation and commonplace in character. However, the project-based undergraduate education and training model’s character is different, which aims at cultivating academic undergraduate talents. So in that way, students are tended to owe academic orientation and strong personality. But the defect of project-based undergraduate education and training model is not yet forming a stable system in colleges and universities, having higher demand for guiders and colleges and universities.It will be a system works for implement the project-based education and training model. Educational management system of strong rigidity and lack of humanistic concern, guidance insufficient and utilitarian of participating in undergraduates’ innovation and entrepreneurship training project have limited in the application of the project-based undergraduate education and training model. It will be improved by carrying forward the department reform, establishing elastic institutional environment, integrating teaching resources, promoting teachers incentive mechanism, applying interest leading and constructing innovation environment.
