Higher vocational education played a great role in promoting our country’s economy and society. Higher vocational education in Shanxi province had a substantial progress in recent years. There were 49 higher vocational colleges and 286136 students. The basic unit of higher vocational education is profession and on this to develop talent and conduct educational activities. Higher vocational colleges as profession for carrier to dock industry carry out school-enterprise cooperation and train high-skilled talents. So the quantity and quality, level and social adaptability of higher vocational profession, directly reflects the educational level and talents training quality. Shanxi higher vocational colleges had set up 1310 professions in 2010; add to 1469 in 2011 and 1528 in 2012. Higher vocational professional assessment is the process of judging professional value, is one of the main contents of perfect higher vocational education’s quality assurance system. At present there were a few provinces to carry out higher vocational professional evaluation and research on the theory of higher vocational profession assessment is lack.The study adopts literature method, comparative method and survey method. The object of study is higher vocational professional evaluation of Shanxi. The study analyzed the background of higher vocational professional evaluation of Shanxi, summarized similarities and differences of assessment guidelines, procedure, index system, object, method, target, organization, and others in Hebei, Guangxi and Fujian provinces (regions). Focus researched and anglicized higher vocational professional assessment implementation plan, evaluation index system, the evaluation results and evaluation characteristics of Shanxi. Especially, through interview part provost and related professional person in charge, the study had a further understanding of effects, existing problems and advices. Also enhance the pertinence of higher vocational professional assessment.The characteristics of Shanxi higher vocational professional assessment is mainly manifested in two aspects:index system and assessment procedure. The mainly achievements are Prompt higher vocational colleges to clear the professional training objective and put more emphasis on professional construction; Prompt higher vocational colleges to perfect cooperation mechanism between colleges and enterprises, and improve the practice teaching system; Prompt higher vocational colleges to strengthen the faculty team construction and improve general qualities of teachers; Prompt higher vocational colleges to perfect curriculum system and refactoring the content of teaching. For existed un-normal assessment work, un-perfect index system and ignore the post assessment, refer to Establish normalized assessment mechanism and maintain the assessment effect; Perfect index system of assessment and reflect it’s comparability; Value supervision and construction of post-assessment and strengthen the construction of brand professions.
