Along with reform and thorough development on our country education realm, the nation devotes major efforts to develop vocational education, vocational schools of various grades and types sprung up like mushrooms in the whole motherland. Among them, higher vocational schools developed rapidly, higher vocational education is a specialized education for cultivating the higher technical applied talents on produce construction, manage, service front line on the foundation of the high school educates. Therefore, higher vocational education becomes a hotspot that arose widespread concerns in the whole society. The Physical Education Teaching is not only a important content and constitute part in higher vocational schools but also a basic path that carries out the Physical Education Teaching target in Higher Vocational Colleges, and that has a special function to the healthy body of the student and the overall development of the character.The author has carry on a survey research on the present situation of Physical Education Teaching of15Shanxi Province higher vocational colleges by the method of documentation, expert interview, questionnaire survey, logical analysis, mathematical statistics and so on. The conclusion is as follows:1Based on the results of the nine higher vocational colleges, the average ratio of teacher and student is1:442,The lack amount of teachers is greater, The school is badly understaffed. Education background and academic title of the teachers staff is obviously low, most are the young and middle-aged teachers.2The attitude towards physical education course of the male and female is significantly diffrent, female students are better than male students, but to the attitude difference that takes part in physical activities isn’t obvious.3The teaching mode still follows a high school or plagiarizes the Physical Education Teaching mode of Common Colleges, teaching method is more single and lacking the distinction.4The majority of teaching time limit on physical education course is a year, and a part of classes has only one period a week, examination method regards "technique"as principle more, also prefers the journey to the result.5The Physical EducationTeaching content don,t adapt to the student characteristics of the higher vocational school to a certain extent,and most of them didn’t consider the student vocational characteristics in future. This has no or a little influence upon cultivating lifetime sports consciousness of the Students in High Vocational colleges.Stadium buildings, equipments and playing area in most higher vocational colleges are able to basically meet the demands of students, in addition to normal school teaching, they can maintain training of athletic team and develop the Extracurricular sports activities.In short, the Physical Education Teaching in higher vocational colleges has to adapt to the requirement of the times at present, can not copy and imitate the teaching mode of the common colleges, and should have their own characteristics of Physical Education Teaching in higher vocational colleges, just can attain the target of reform in education like this; At the same time, in the process of reform in education, as a Physical Education teacher, has a leading function in the teaching, how to realize the existent problem in the education reform? How about your attitude? How to embody reasonably in the teaching? As a student in higher vocational colleges, how to played an active part in physical education class? Whether to have benefit to my future work and physical quality? A series of problems are very important to promoting the education reform and future development on physical education teaching in higher vocational colleges.
