With the advance of the new curriculum reform and the promotion of the reform program the College Entrance Examination in Shanghai, Middletown Schools cancel Arts Division.The position of Geography is upgraded gradually; and the study of geography teaching continues to increase. Recently, the convergence research of geography teaching in Middle and High school is more and more, but research on the convergence research of geography teaching in Middle and High school is rarely involved.It is pretty significant to improve the weak condition and the teaching effect of geography teaching in Middle and High schools in rural areas by completing convergence research of Junior and senior high school geography teaching in rural areas.This essay interviewed a partof students in Senior 1 of H Middle School, Yi Long, Nanchong, and M Middle School, Luzhou, Sichuan Province and did a research the condition of the convergence of Junior and senior high school geography teaching in rural areas. According to the datas gathered and collected by referring to related books, questionnaires, interviews and so on methods and using Excel to analyze the surveyed datas to draw the following conclusion: 1. The majority of students of high schools think it is of no use studying geography, which is still considered as a subsidiary subject. 2. The aim of studying geography in some rural senior high schools is to content their parents and to dram attention from teachers and classmates. Middle school students lack the ego-enhancement. 3. Most of students in rural areas have bad habit of study and always delay study. Teachers: Geography teachers in rural areas have low professional level and it is common to see the teachers are tired of teaching. Geography position should be improved and investment in infrastructure in rural secondary schools is inadequate. These and other factors have an effect on the convergence of rural junior high school geography teaching in different degree.This essay is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction, which is mainly talking about background, significance, literature and related books from domestic and abroad, and decide the research thought and methods.The second part is to talk about the theoretical foundation of the convergence research of geography teaching in Middle and High school, including the need hierarchy theory, meaningful reception learning theory, advance organizer strategy, learning transfer theory, academic procrastination theory and so on.The third part is talking about the relevant data and problems of the convergence research of geography teaching in Middle and High school, including questionnaires and interviews. Then, this passage tries to find out the problems and difficulties of the convergence research of geography teaching in Middle and High schools by analyzing the surveyed datas and combining the content of interviews.In the forth part, the essay puts forward some policies and suggestions about the convergence of geography teaching in Middle and High schools, based on some experts’ and teacher’s opinions and by combining the real condition of two high schools. As for the connection, the suggestions are including that teachers should adopt various teaching methods, the concerned education authorities should attach great importance to the village school geography teaching.The last part is a conclusion of this paper. The writer of this essay looks forward to knowing the shortage and puzzlement to perfect it.
