"Issues Research" is a new teaching section in the PEP Senior High School New Curriculum Experimental Geography Textbooks. It shows some matter in the form of practical problems to students after instructing the core basic knowledge, allowing students to explore and solve problems in the process of consolidating the knowledge, development capacity, and the correct values of a scientific education and teaching methods.In recent years, with the deepening of the new geography curriculum reform and the promotion and use of new materials, articles on "Issues Research" section come up, but the relevant articles only stay in the "Issues Research" presentation. And "Issues Research" instance of the use of strategies on the "problem studies" curriculum development, less using Local Geography to "Issues Research".This article points on the function of Local Geography in the "Issues Research" in teaching study of its effectiveness as a foothold. Analyses the choices of "Issues Research" in the selection of Local Geography; the recent situation of the effective combination of Local Geography and the "Issues Research" status effective combination, and the teaching practice and results of Local Geography in the "Issues Research".Through interviews, questionnaires, inventories of part of high school geography teachers in Wuxi City and the NO. Three High School students in the survey results showed that:Application of Local Geography to "Issues Research" is not as good as we wished, and it is difficult to practice, with simple forms. Based on the survey, chose two parallel classes in Grade One, using comparison of the experimental method. PEP materials and local geography were used separately on the "Issues Research" class. Compared students in the implementation process on the interest, participation, the use of basic knowledge and basic skills training and other aspects of the difference. Local Geography further summarized in the "Issues Research" function of the TeachingThe practice shows that, during the "Issues Research" teaching, choose local cases of partial substitution of materials purposefully. Combine the "Issues Research" and Issues Research. It can satisfy the curiosity of students, but also strongly stimulate student interest in learning. Stimulate awareness of student participation, problem awareness, sense of innovation, Increase in the nurture of the geographic literacy of students and patriotic sentiment. In terms of promoting the development of teachers, Not only benefit to the teachers and establish a new educational philosophy and the concept of lifelong learning, but also helps improve the teaching ability of teachers and research capacity. The results above can guide how to grasp the "Issues Research "teaching effectiveness better, and better served the high school geography teaching.
