The nature of flipped classroom is “study determines teaching” and reverses the previous studying model: teachers teach during class and students finish knowledge internalization by homework after class. It will promote the knowledge internalization of students more efficiently in the classroom and teachers can teach students individually based on their feedback before class. As a new teaching and studying model, it provides a feasible path to solve many issues of current Graphic Design course. Flipped classroom sets students as center, help students learn independently and build initiatively, and the teachers become source of learning resource, learningsubsidiary and scene creature. Flipped classroom can solve such problems as boring theory, inadequate practice, wasted resource, scant individualteaching and so on.Firstly, existing issues of current Graphic Designcourse are found out by questionnaire, empirical summary and classroom observation. Secondly, research and practice of civil and abroad, especially research based on flipped classroom teaching model, are summarized by literature research. Then, the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed and compared, and one optimized flipped classroom model is proposed. Finally, based on the proposed flipped classroom model, the Graphic Design course is re-designed and applied. Furthermore, undergraduates of Sichuan Normal University, educational technology major, are set as researching objects and a whole semester teaching practice is carried out. And then, the teaching practice is researched by three phase. The conclusion is as bellows: students like this teaching model very much and flipped classroom practice can promote teaching effect and students’ comprehensive ability efficiently.
