In May of 2013, the author followed the great troops of teaching Chinese as a second language and landed on Thailand, which is another promising place in the heat wave of learning Chinese. 1700 volunteer teachers are need in the academic year of 2013, which is far more than the 1200 persons in 2012. However, the more teachers are needed, the more challenge the teachers are facing. How to bring Chinese culture and traditional skills in a good way to the students in Thailand is a tough issue, while teaching the language well in the mean time. In the real practice of teaching, the author found that the teaching of Chinese culture and skills is in its growth stage, but it seems disordered as well. Without the guiding of teaching syllabus, without a specific teaching goal, every teaching period seems in a casual way(there is even no independent cultural lesson in many schools). In order to inspect how exactly this kind of lessons are going, the author interviewed more than 120 Chinese volunteer teachers with the chance of having meeting or training held by Hanban. Since the volunteers employed by Basic Education Committee are all in public schools, the survey scope is assured. In a way of questionnaire and interview, the author notes the data for research. By analyzing the data the author proposes some advices as coping strategies. And this opening of a discussion on the issue of how to teach Chinese culture and traditional skills is expected to be noticed by more scholars, contributing to the Chinese teaching as a second language. This thesis contains four chapters. Chapter I is background of such survey and the introduction of research methods. Chapter II is the analysis of the data. In Chapter III, the strategies are proposed. The last chapter is a summary.
