Further implementation of new curriculum reform has promoted research on curriculum resource. During the teaching practice, we discovered that single teaching material resource cannot meet the requirements for program objective, therefore we need to develop diversified material to reach the goal. As the constituent part of curriculum resource, local culture resources play vital importance in enhancing students’ learning interest, raising class effectiveness, promoting students’ abilities as well as cultivating patriotic feeling due to territoriality, peculiarity, practical and operability. In hence, it gets wide attention of applying local resource into curriculum development.Political textbook of senior high school has been changed for several rounds, while the textbook, Cultural Life as a brand new teaching module has brought a great challenge to those extensive educators. This textbook is provided with rich contents and all-inclusive information, it is not so easy to explain it well. As it is difficult to balance the teaching scale, many educators have no any appropriate teaching approaches, which will easily lead to a depressing classroom atmosphere. It is a extremely pressing task to enrich Cultural Life with some new resources. Moreover, Changsha, as a famous cultural city with a long history, has quite abundant resources, and is provided with the values for perfecting the course teaching of Cultural Life.The characteristics of local culture resources of Changsha are distinctive. As to how to apply them into the curriculums of Cultural Life, the author puts forward three suggestions based on the principle of development. First of all, adhere to the principle that advancing with the times and blazing new trails with a pioneering spirit according to the development and progress of the times. Secondly, implement the principle that people oriented and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude based on the development of students. Thirdly, implement diverse and targeted curriculums according to the contents of textbooks. In the meantime, the author enumerates a number of teaching methods during the operation process, such as case analysis method, situational teaching approach, expository method, visiting method and etc. At last, specific requirements are put forward from the perspective of practical operation, namely learning to collecting information before class, good at employing information in class and experiencing to consolidate the study after class, for the purpose of facilitating the smooth implement of the curriculum.
