The Research And Practice Of Inquiry Teaching In Junior Middle School Biology Under The New Curriculum Standard

Biology is an experimental science. The experiment based on the exploring plays an important role in the junior middle school biology experiment. It has a lot of benefits to develop exploring experiment efficiently and orderly in biology curriculum during junior middle school education. It can enhance students’ learning interest in biology. And it cultivates students to build up a good scientific attitude of daring to question and also exploring ability. It also stimulates students to think creatively. All of the benefits reflects the idea that the students can have the long term development by the application of the new curriculum.This paper takes the new curriculum standards as a guide, and Piaget’s genetic epistemology, Ausubel’s meaningful learning theory and constructivism as the basis. Literature, investigation and experimental methods are used to research and carry out the teaching methods based on the exploring experiments in biology course in junior middle school.In order to show the effect and achievement of the exploring experiment teaching method, the author did the research in the 2 classes with similar performance for more than half year. Afterwards, the author analyzed the performance of 2 classes. The results of the study show that, it is helpful to improve the performance, especially for the high-level performance. It also enhances the interests, ability and innovative thinking of the students through implementing the exploring experiment method in the middle school biology teaching. At the same time, this study accumulates a lot of experience on how to carry out the exploring experiment teaching method better in junior middle school. And also to provide the example and material for promoting and developing the exploring experiment teaching method in biology course in junior middle school.
