There’s no doubt that parent-child relationship is a vital element to decide whether a family is harmonious or not, and friendly parent-child relationship is definitely necessary for a child to grow up in healthy. In recent years, with the rising of divorce rate, the number of single-parent family is climbing. Compared to a whole and happy family, a single-parent family is supposed to deal with more difficulties from many aspects, such as economy issues, social problems, emotional problems and so on, among which the parent-child relationship is of great importance.This thesis tries to conduct a practice research on how to improve parent-child relationship among single-parent families from the aspect of social elements. First of all,through deep talk with parents and children from single-child family, the author lists the parent-child relationship issues, and then gives a detailed analysis of the issues from the aspect of family and social elements. Secondly, the author involves herself in a caring parent-child activity project which is based on the parent-child relationship improvement among single-parent families. This project, aiming to improve parent-child relationship and promote family harmony, based on groups-interactive model, adopts social work professional practice to intervene parent-child relationship. And in the end, the author evaluates this parent-child activity project effect and summaries the advantage and disadvantage of this groups-interactive model.
