The family is the cell of the society, and also is the main living environment for a person to growing, developing and resting. A good family environment is not only beneficial to the stability of the family and the society, but also to the development of the physical and mental health of each family member. In recent years, the researchers are concerned about the internal family environment, the research of family cohesion and adaptability in our country has been involved in multiple areas of personalitystructure. Results revealed that family cohesion and adaptability involved every personality dimensions. Influenced by western democracy thought, the individual character view of modern China presentsmore and more emphasis on independence, self-reliance of the object pointed to all the people. Junior school is the key period to establish good independent personality, and the independent personality of a teenage has great effect on his psychological development and socialization. Based on this, in order to help teenagers to improve the level of family cohesion and adaptability, and cultivate their independent personalities, we selected family cohesion and adaptability and independent personality of the junior school students to conduct our research.Based on "the family cohesion and adaptability scale (FACES Ⅱ-CV) version 2th " and "the young students independent personality inventory (SSPS-AS)", we selected 541 junior school students from Changchun city and sipping city in Jilin province to conduct a questionnaire investigation. We want to investigate the research status of the family cohesion and adaptability and independent personality and the relationship between them. The results are as follows:1. The independent personality level of junior school students located above average, order by the score as:personal responsibility, personal independence, interpersonal openness, personal initiative, individual open, individual flexible, personal independence, personal interpersonal flexible, personal initiative, and individual responsibility. The independent personality of junior school students in demographic variables as gender, grade, whether the one-child, origin of student, whether the class cadre have significant differences.2. The actual level of family cohesion and adaptability of junior school students located above average, ideal family cohesion and adaptability level are higher than the actual family cohesion and adaptability level. And there are significant differences in gender, grade, whether the one-child, whether the class cadre, and the origin of student.3. The independent personality and family cohesion and adaptability of junior school students have a significant positive correlation, and the independent personality and family cohesion and adaptability which are not satisfied have a significantnegative correlation.4. By the regression analysis of independent personality and family cohesion and adaptability of junior school students, the family cohesion and adaptability of the junior school students has significant forecasting effect to independent personality, but the forecasting effect dose not as high asour expectation.
