I Secondary vocational education is an important part of basic education.It occupies a very important position in education. With the tilt of national attention and policy, vocational education has been rapidly developed and vocational high school language textbook construction has become a daunting task of Chinese curriculum reform. The quality and the level of the textbook will directly affect the language ability and the taste of culture of the next generation. It will also impact on the future generations, and even affect the national spirit and the culture of the whole nation. In recent years, the country has strengthened the reform of vocational education programs, and one of the important elements is the textbook reform. There was a wave of secondary vocational school language textbook development and reform, but there is an indisputable fact remains that the secondary vocational education is still far behind the high school education. Secondary vocational education differs from general high education. The unique of it determines the specificity of vocational language courses, but for a long time, vocational language has not formed its own characteristics. The development of it is so difficult. First,students think language learning is not as practical as specialized courses and don’t take it seriously(although their development is inseparable from language students). Second, language teachers in vocational schools usually copy high school language class form, but do not teach vocational courses carefully. To change this situation, the key lies in the choice of language textbook, because textbooks are the main way to achieve teaching objectives.In 2009, the Language Publishing House published the new vocational language teaching materials edited by Zhao Dapeng, which combined the "language literacy" and "professionalism" of the textbook but was still imperfect. Only by understanding the advantages and disadvantages of textbooks, the front-line teachers can use textbooks better. Based on this, the paper mainly focuses on the 2009 edition vocational language textbooks(upper and lower volumes) published by Language Publishing House and the professional module and the expansion module. The first chapter focuses oncompiling principles and compiling system of this textbook. The second and the third chapters analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the selected texts and homework problems of each textbook. The fourth chapter makes specific recommendations to improve teaching materials for the development of vocational language teaching and language teaching material construction.
