With the enhancing world integration, many international teaching concepts have been accepted by the educational circle of our country. Also with the advance of curriculum reform, history teaching is also facing its own reform. This thesis, based on the education theory of Interdisciplinary Studies, aims at analyzing the possibility and the mean of English historical material teaching.This thesis illustrates this teaching method from the following aspects. Part One.Mean,current situation and its purpose; It describes the mean and purpose from curriculum reform, current history-teaching and world-history those three aspects. Meanwhile, reviewing the related research results of both at home and abroad. Lastly pointing out the current education background to its influence and its innovation point is the idea of interdisciplinary. Part Two.The necessity. Describing its necessity from history-teaching and student these two aspects.History course’s digging and curriculum standard are two factors of history-teaching. Students’ thirst for new information and the interest of interdisciplinary are two factors of student.Part Three.The ways and principles of using English material teaching method. We should notice three aspects when we use this method.Grasping the key and difficult points,expanding the history story and introducing the famous historical people to students.We should obey the principles of truth,relevance,thought and appropriateness.Part Four.The application of English historical material teaching.Introducing a history-teaching case that used this method in the text of the Founding of the federal government of the United States of America. Comparing this teaching method with the telling method from several aspects.Part Five.Reflection.In this part,i point out that we should avoid unavailability and excess when we use this method in world-history teaching. Part Six.Epilogue.The end of thesis,it points out that English historical material used in world-history class is a supplement to the contents,which aims at the better and overall development of the students.
