Mental development is the result of the interaction of the external environment and the individual’s growth. Because of the interaction of the external environment’s changes and the person’s growth,more and more mental problems appear among middle school students. Middle school students are the objects of the deological and political education in middle schools, their’ psychological development levels have direct impacts on the enhancement and the formation of ideological and moral qualities and the political literacy. High incidence of the mental problems undoubtedly proposes a realistic request to the innovation and development of the deological and political education. Mental health education’s permeating in deological and political education in middle schools is imperative.Based on literature research and empirical investigation, this article analyzes the problems and the countermeasures of this issue from the theoretical and practical aspects in order to provide guidance for the effective implementation of the ideological and political education in middle schools. There are four parts in this article. The first part mainly discusses the basic concepts of the mental health education and ideological and political education in middle schools, and the differences and connections between them, so as to explain the “permeating” as that the theory and methods of mental health education are referd to and absorbed to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of ideological and political education. The second part explores the the challenges that mental health education and ideological and political education are facing, from the impacts of the objective environment’s reality, taking the requirements of national policies and the education reform as a guide and based on a variety of scientific theories and combined with the importance of penetration for the necessity analysis. Based on the results of the questionnaire and interview in Z Middle School in Su Zhou, the third part explores the current situation of the permeating, pointing out the problems and analyzing the reasons. The forth part proposes measures from the aspects of ideology, organization, evaluation and methods against above problems.
