The Independence Cultivation Of The Adolescents In The Light Of Public Education

Teenagers are in a transitional period from young children to adult, and in this period teenagers have some drastic changes on physiological and psychological. At this time, the teenagers are at the last stage of basic education- high school. Teenagers are in such collective environment to learn and live, so their independence is easily affected by this collective environment. However, at this stage, the school education tends to neglect the cultivation of teenagers’ independence, which results in the lack of teenagers’ independence. Along with the increasing attention on the teenagers’ independence, the school education should take attention on the cultivation of teenagers’ independence.By reading lots of related information and documents in this field, this paper analyses and defines the basic concepts of personal independence and school education firstly, and the effects of school education on personal independence are analyzed. Later, the author uses a comprehensive questionnaire to discuss the special function of school education in the process of cultivation of teenagers’ independence from an empirical perspective, and the purpose of this paper is to understand the significance of cultivation of teenagers’ independence and the influence of school education on cultivation of teenagers’ independence. Then the manifestations and causes of the lack of teenagers’ independence are analyzed by the results of empirical investigation and the correlative research. Finally, this paper absorbs the advanced experience about the cultivation of independence and combines with the practical exploration to make the induction and summary, and it proposes six measures about the cultivation of teenagers’ independence. These measures include the popularization of individualized education, the enhancement of communication between family members, the establishment of a good relationship at school, the consummation of psychological counseling mechanism at school, the improvement of independent learning ability of teenagers and extracurricular reading level, the increment of social activities of teenagers.
