Chinese traditional culture, which bears the cultural vein and ideological essence of the Chinese nation, is a highly precious heritage to the Chinese nation. As an accumulation of the profound culture of a nation, classical fiction is a condensation of the great wisdom of the laboring people in ancient times. It plays an incomparably critical role in the heritage and development of Chinese culture, and presents the everlasting charm of art. The teaching of classical fictions is of indispensable significance to the students’ absorption of the essence of traditional culture, the understanding of social condition, and the improvement of aesthetic sentiment and humanistic attainment.In the introduction part, the proposition of the topic, the review of the historical research on classical fiction teaching, as well as the category definition, the significance and methods of research are elaborated.In the first chapter, senior high school teachers’ teaching and students’ studying of classical fictions are explored and analyzed. The teaching and research of classical fictions in senior high schools are pointed out, such as the intense teaching schedule and the overtime teaching, etc. Next, the existing formulation of different versions of middle schools’ teaching materials is explored from the perspective of teaching materials. Moreover, the selected Water Margin in senior high schools’ teaching materials in different historical periods is explored. To be more specific, the selection of Water Margin in senior high schools’ teaching materials is organized horizontally and vertically.In the second chapter, ten randomly sampled teaching plans are analyzed in the mode of case study. They come from the Chinese teaching group of Zhangzhou Experimental Middle School, Yunxiao Middle School and Longhai No. 1 Middle School respectively. These teaching plans are taken as a basis to determine the condition of teaching presented by the teaching plans of Lin Chong’s Adventure in the Snowy Shanshen Temple formulated by the Chinese teaching group in the second grade of senior high schools.The third chapter includes four parts, in which the setting of the teaching goals, the determination of the teaching content, the suggestions in the teaching process and the setting of exercises of the selected article Lin Chong’s Adventure in the Snowy Shanshen Temple are analyzed academically. Besides, an attempt is also made to research the realistic and practical nature of the selected teaching materials.In the rest part, the weaknesses and strengths of the research are summarized. And a review, summary and prospect of the research are also presented.
