In line with the current trend of Chinese teaching reform in senior high schools and on the basis of the current situation of classical reading teaching in senior high schools,teachers have realized the practical significance of reading the whole book.Especially excellent classical works can guide the development of human spiritual and cultural construction,and help construct the value orientation of middle school students with the ancient legendary national spirit.However,the old reading methods obviously do not accord with the information rate of E+ era.Therefore,in the new era,we must find "the life spring",which can optimize and innovate the teaching mode to improve the teaching effect and efficiency.Then the whole book reading becomes a “favorite” that comes along smoothly.And the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 edition)clearly points out that "whole book" reading is a relatively important task list in particular.Front-line teachers are increasingly aware of the importance of "whole book" reading.Therefore,this study attempts to take the traditional classic "Water Margin" as an example of the whole book reading.Although the systematic teaching methods need to be studied,the author hopes to promote the improvement of high school students' language literacy through teaching practice.This study takes into account the current situation and teaching problems of the whole book reading in senior high school,and actively seeks for innovative teaching mode,exploring flexible and ingenious ways to solve the problems in reading teaching.Hopefully it can present the greatest value of the research with the real teaching cases implemented in the classroom.Firstly,this study discusses the concepts related to the whole book reading,and explains the necessity and feasibility of carrying out the whole book reading practice.Then the author illustrates how to read the whole book of Water Margin,including the course,teaching methods and teaching strategies,so as to lay a foundation for the further implementation stage.In the course of implementation,the author made a breakthrough in the four stages: "preluding" to read the whole picture,"ploughing" the essence of reading,"extending" the deep meaning of reading and "integrating" reading together to get the effect.In each stage,students participate in the process,and actively cooperate,exchange and discuss.The four stages are inquiry processes from shallow to deep,from perceptual to rational,so that students' reading ability presents an upward trend.Finally,the author reflects on the research from the aspects of teaching effect and teaching evaluation,and expects to carry out further research in the next step.
