Physics is an important foundation for scientific and technological progress. Nowadays, with the rapid development and wide application of physics-related technology, basic physical education is facing new opportunities and challenges. Compulsory physical education should reflect the impact of the development of physics in society and focus on students’ scientific knowledge, in order to lay a solid foundation for cultivating talents with a scientific and technological innovation ability and good quality of scientific.Since the implementation of the new curriculum reform, it has been ten years. However, the traditional way of teaching has not changed. There are still many drawbacks in their teaching. Firstly, after literature review, research status is cleared. Then from the point of theoretical point, improvement framework of physics education based on academic achievement diagnosis is constructed. And take W school as an example. In diagnostic methods, tests with paper and pencil are used and interviews are followed. Academic achievement diagnostic is different from the usual tests, and the diagnostic purpose is to identify gaps between student academic achievement and the curriculum standards. Therefore, this is under the standard diagnosis. After many times adjusted and with the reference to the interview with front line teacher, the reasonability is confirmed. The diagnostic tool is put into application. Physics academic achievement in the tested school is detected and recommendations for improvement are brought forward.Firstly, from a theoretical point, the framework based on academic achievement is constructed and in which the physics education reform based on physics and academic achievement is discussed. Secondly, the diagnostic tool is put into application. Take W school as an example. At last, reflection based on standard academic achievement evaluation is conducted. And recommendations for improvement are brought forward.
