Physical education in junior middle school plays an important part in China’s compulsory education. Its quality is closely related to whether our personnel training system is able to perform in accordance with the established target concertedly.Owing to the complexity and variability of physical education, the risk of sports injury and injury accidents is evidently highier than regular courses,therefore,it is essential for physical education teachers to master teaching skills expertly.Comprehensive proficiency of the skill not only can achieve good teaching effect, but can also avoid unsafe factors in teaching process.This paper using the methods of documentary,questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, analyzes present status of the teaching skills and security in physical education of 24 middle schools in Xiling district of Yichang city, coming to the following conclusions:(1) The improvement of teaching skills can fundamentally prevent the emergency of physical security issues. In today’s society, the occurrence of accidents in PE class will not only have a negative impact on the school but also cause more damage to the students’ physical and mental health.Consequently,to ensure the students’safety is the most important and most basic issue.The PE teacher should improve his or her own teaching ability, trying to avoid the occurrence of accidents.(2) Every aspect in physical teaching skills will affect the physical teaching security. Multimedia utilization can make physical education curriculum easier to understand, improve the classroom teaching efficiency and quality, and lead students to comprehend the physical teaching security (3) The application of organization and management skills can keep class education in better order,select the appropriate teaching methods to make students understand the connotation of sports technology and keep students away from sports injuries. (4) The application of observing and realizing the students’ skills can better help teachers to make teaching plans suitable for the students, so as to achieve the objectives of individualized quality education. (5) The application of technical demonstration and guidance can better meliorate the students’ incorrect motion and prevent sports injury.
