For the implement of the new curriculum revolution, the high school ideological and political textbooks have been adjusted a lot either on contents or structure. It also leaves a huge space for teaching and learning. The high school ideological and political textbook space is the generalization and summation of the high school ideological and political textbook contents, including explicit knowledge (i.e. text) and tacit knowledge (i.e. capacity and emotion) which is in the form of auxiliary article. The textbook space is a kind of precious teaching resources and becomes the important part of the efficiency teaching in politics.The thesis regards the high school ideological and political textbooks (PEP edition) as the object of research, lists several types of the political textbook space, makes some analysis of its form, function and significance, and draws several enlightenments for teaching.The thesis is composed of the four parts:The first part is on defining the meaning of ideological and political textbook space. Later, it illustrates the form and characteristics of the ideological and political textbook space. It complies with the design concept of curriculum standards, pays attention to the cultivation of emotional attitude values, focus on actual life and students’ status.The second part analyzes the types of the high school ideological and political textbook space. Textbook space varies so much that I summarize some typical types, including the space for developing thinking, for operation, for thought sublimation and for independent learning and cooperative and inquiry learning.The third part analyzes the functions of the high school ideological and political textbook space. The thesis defines them as:(1) focusing on cultivating students’ sense of questioning; (2) focusing on improving students’ practical ability; (3) paying attention to students’ major role and inspiring students’ subject consciousness; (4) changing the way on both teaching and learning ideological and political course.The last part is the implications for teaching. Fully excavating and properly using the high school ideological and political textbook space, general politics teachers can raise the concerns to political textbook space and clarify its value to politics teaching. This thesis suggests that teachers should do as followings:(1) to take seriously politics textbook space’s action; (2) to improve the skills on handling and using the politics textbook space; (3) to be student-oriented.
