To develop students history thinking ability is an important target of teaching. History thinking is a key to study history. Students history thinking will help their self-learning ability and the idea of life-long learning, which is a key issue of the new curriculum reform. High school is the key time to develop students history thinking ability.On the existed research results, this thesis discusses how to develop students’ history thinking ability through history class, questionnaire, interview and so on.This thesis has four parts.The first part is the introduction.The second part summarizes some theory foundation of history thinking ability. It lays the foundation for the follow parts from the content and style of history thinking ability.The third part associates the related theory and does a deep research to the history-teaching in some high school in Wuhan. It tries to know the situation and problem of the students thinking ability and analyses the problem from the aspects of students, teachers and schools. In the end, the writer gives some suggestions.The forth part is the advice and strategy.
