Open video course which emerged from21st century is a new form of internet educational resources. It originated in the open educational resources movement. The main service subject is college students. At the same time, it supplies free open science and cultural educational video courses for public. Through internet, open video courses have developed the single class into a sharing knowledge space.Currently, the open educational resources movement worldwide has grown to be a worldwide trend. Video courses, not only in the education sector have an impact even extends to the community led to a "Amoy" craze. This form of free distribution of produce new ideas and curriculum change, breaking the barrier between the world of education and academic, promotes academic communication and Exchange, attracted attaches to the education sector. While the foreign video open class became hot on the internet, the plan of national quality lesson in our country also developed greatly. And it brings a batch of video courses which are developed by famous universities and teachers such as Tsinghua University and Peking University. Although there are many domestic video quality courses, the gap is obvious compared with famous courses of Harvard University and Yale University. Beginning with the college students’ initial impression on open video courses, this article means to find out the mainly factors and analyze the reasons.Standing at the college students’ perspective, this article chooses200students of a financial and economical university, and organizes the students watching25minutes’ domestic and foreign open video courses in the continuous time. From the students’ basic information, the using of video courses, the feeling of watching video courses, the evaluation of the courses and the requirements, the article designs33questions for finishing the questionnaire survey. In order to sort out and statistic the185valid questionnaires, it makes use of several research methods, for example, literature reading, experiment research, questionnaire survey and comparing analysis, also incorporation with the software SPSS17.0. It specifically analyzes the differences of initial impression from the video production technology, the teachers’ performance and the students themselves.From the survey, almost every student has a good impression on foreign video open courses. Especially on the details, the foreign courses have more advantages.The first, there is almost no difference on the video production technology from the initial impression. But with regard to catching the pictures from more angles and the later management and innovation, the differences exist.The second, the foreign video courses are paid more attention than the domestic video courses, when talking about the students’initial impression on teachers’ performance. These impressions are focusing on the content of class, the cases and the quality, the interesting and infection of the teaching methods, and the reasonable teaching environment and so on.The third, the students’personality differences are also playing an important role on the initial impression. The score and the class are the main factors.The outstanding students pay more attention to the foreign famous university and teachers. The averaged students’initial impressions are influenced by the comfortable of the video and the teaching environment of the famous university. Other students have no special favor. It seems that they have no enough interesting on those courses.From the class, the freshmen concern on the teaching methods, the sophomore year and junior students begin focusing on the content of courses except the teaching methods. The senior students pay more attention to the content of the open video courses. With the grades growing, students’initial impressions have changed.In all, this article gives some advices on the construction and the application of domestic video courses aiming to increase the initial impression on the courses. So the courses can motivate the students’interesting to study, and give more supply for the future learner on the video courses.
