Research On The Development Of Xi’an Outdoor Sports

Mountain outdoor sports was introduced to our country in the mid1980s, then developed very rapidly, being popular among the public. But now because of its late starting, low recognition and inadequate development, so the systematic research is limited with no complete series of theories. Therefore, researches in e mountain outdoor sports’ theory, practice and strategy aim to explore its historical development and the era characteristics in our country, to promote the achievement of "HealthyXi’an". With Xi’an’s unique geographical features and geographical forms, to develop mountain outdoor sports will greatly enhance the public’s physique level, diversify their exercise ways and improve their well-being.This study takes xi’an mountain outdoor sports as the research object. By means of literature materials, interviews, questionnaire surveys, data statistics, and site visits, studies are related to explore the participants’ conditions, participation behaviors, the public’s awareness, the developing projects and its management system. Conclusions are as follows:1. Xi’an’s abundant natural resources and appropriate climate weather is conductive to the mountain outdoor sports;2. Mountain outdoor sports changing from a means of survival to a kind of lifestyle can meet the participants’ needs of challenging the limit and pursuing the adventure, in addition to the its values in bodybuilding and entertaining;3. Though developed rapidly, Xi’an mountain outdoor sports at the same time is confronted with some problems like small participation scale, limited financial investment, irregular organization and so on;4. Xi’an mountain outdoor sports are promoted by economic development, life styles, bodybuilding concepts and network media and at the same time restricted by factors like related policies and regulations, management system, safety assurance and traditional mass media. And the following development strategies are put forward:1.Formulate the overall long-term mountain outdoor sports development strategy, improving the organization and management system;2. Establish the idea of "the best", building the first class demonstration base of mountain outdoor sports at home and abroad;3.Build outdoor sports security and rescue systems;4. Focus on talent education and training, establishing a team of talents, excellent and expertised.
