Ethnic history is an important part of historical study and historical education. Also, historical textbook is significant because of its characteristic of the carrier of historical education. Chinese government started The New Curriculum Reform in the early21century. Under the idea of The New Curriculum Reform, the high school historical textbook began to re-write. Compare to the former historical textbook, current version dramatically cuts the content of ethnic history. Firstly, This paper presents the situation of deletion and hunts for its cause. Secondly, this paper highlights the importance of ethnic in the historical education. Lastly, according to the comparison between the historical textbook in mainland and that in Hong Kong and Taiwan, this paper tries to introspect the compilation of ethnic history in high school, and find the way out.
