Since the reform and opening-up policies of China, especially with thepopularization of higher education, the development of higher vocational education inour country has made a spurt of progress, and higher vocational education has becomethe mainstay of China’s higher education. In the face of a deepening reform and aspeed-up opening-up, in the face of overall deployment for building aninnovation-oriented country and new requirements for constructing higher educationto a powerful country, in the face of new problems brought by industrialization,marketization, globalization, in the way of China characteristic industrialization,informatization, urbanization, agricultural modernization, the ideological and politicaleducation in higher vocational colleges is facing new requirements and challenges.Ideological and political education is based on educating and cultivating people.To improve the quality of people, and promote the overall development of people isthe value of Ideological and political education. How to strengthen and improve theeffectiveness of ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges is anurgent problem to be solved for current ideological and political education in colleges.Although in recent years the work of ideological and political education has madegreat achievements, and accumulated much good experience, but in the face of thechanging international and domestic situation, the actual effect of ideological andpolitical education of higher vocational students still exist many weak links in manyways and they need to be further solved.The effectiveness of ideological and political education in higher vocationalcolleges has always been the focus in its field. In china’s present educational system,college students are exposed to all kind of ideas both abroad and at home. Therefore,to study the effectiveness of ideological and political education in higher vocationalcolleges has a strong theoretical and practical significance. Based on this fact and theexisting research results, this paper deals with the research on effectiveness ofideological and political education in higher vocational colleges. The questionnaire survey and the quantitative statistics are both combined in this paper to proposereferences to improve the quality of ideological and political education in highervocational colleges.This paper defines the original intention, the objective significance of highervocational colleges from its mission and connotation, and it also states theparticularity of vocational college students and the characteristics, functions,principles of their ideological and political education. Chengdu Aeronautic Vocationaland Technical College, covering about1000mu, is located in Longquanyi District,which is the National Economic and Technical Development Zone of Chengdu,Sichuan province, PRC. Founded in1965, CAVTC was formerly attached to theAviation Industry Corporation. In1998, it renamed as Chengdu Aeronautic Vocationaland Technical College based on Chengdu Aeronautic Industry School with theratification of the Ministry of Education. In1999, CAVTC was directly under theguidance of the Provincial Education Department of Sichuan. In2002, CAVTC waslisted by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance as, one of the fullysupported demonstration vocational collegesμ. In2004, CAVTC was declared byMinistry of Education and Ministry of Finance as, one of the first batch of Chinesenumerical control training baseμ. In2006, CAVTC was designated as NationalDemonstration Vocational College construction unit. In2007, CAVTC was identifiedas the vocational education training base of national defense technology industry bythe Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. In2009,CAVTC passed the check and approval of China Education Ministry and FinanceMinistry smoothly, then ranked in the first28National Demonstration VocationalCollege. In2012,CAVTC was designated as national pilot experimental school ofdirectly recruiting Petty Officer by The PLA general staff headquarters and Ministryof education. Besides, CAVTC is the national advanced unit of vocational education,the provincial role model in ethical and cultural progress、the training center ofpresidents of national higher vocational colleges and the training base of Sichuanvocational teacher training. CAVTC has carried forward the spirit as serving thecountry, Quality firstμ. By following the principle of being human-oriented, beingfirst-rate, creating brand, developing features, serving aviation, serving militaryindustry, serving the local place and running the satisfying higher vocationaleducationμ, adhering to the motto of Virtue, Perseverance, Realistic Approach andInnovationμ, developing the school spirit of Diligence, Carefulness, Liveliness andGood Behaviorμ, insisting on cooperative school-running, cooperative education, cooperative development and cooperative employmentμ, striving to take on aninnovative path of education and talent nurturing reform, our college has madenotable strides and gained broad social recognition in terms of teaching studies,student nurturing, cooperation between school and enterprises, and social services, etc.Since established49years ago, our college has cultivated almost twenty thousand ofmid-rank and higher-rank engineering talents for aviation industry、defense-relatedtechnology industry、civil aviation and regional economy construction. By carrying onthe questionnaire survey to the partial students of Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic,this paper analyzes the students· political literacy, the spirit of patriotism, socialcognition, values of life, employment concept and so on. Combined with the actualcharacteristics of higher vocational colleges, this paper points out the present situationand problems of the ideological and political education of higher vocational students,and analyzes the factors influencing the development of ideological and politicaleducation of higher vocational students, and also put forward the principles andcontents of the construction of the effectiveness of the scientific design ofcontemporary higher vocational college students’ ideological and political education.In details: firstly, take the Marx theory and the theory of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics as the main theories of higher vocational college students· ideologicaland political education; pay attention to ideological infiltration in the teaching ofspecialized courses; take the social practice as the plat form of the ideological andpolitical education of higher vocational students; let all of the students play activeroles in the ideological and political education. Secondly, by establishing excellentcampus culture, strengthen the students· sense of identity and trust of their colleges;create students· organizations and school (base) of culture and quality and the sametime, create occupation culture atmosphere. Thirdly, strengthen the ideological andpolitical education, moral quality and occupation moral aspects. Finally, make full useof the advantages of school-enterprise integration, theory-practice integrationμ inhigher vocational colleges.
