With the new curriculum reform and the implementation and promotion of the new curriculum, primary and secondary school teachers’ professional quality and knowledge levels have been put forward a very high demand. Therefore, primary and secondary school teachers’ training has been paid greater attention to, and has become the important measures to improve the quality of teachers and the level of teaching. Primary and secondary school teachers’ training is a major means of improving teachers’ quality around the world, it is of great significance to the advance of the new curriculum reform, and to promote the development of schools, teachers and students.In this paper, the writer makes investigations and study of ten primary and secondary schools in Changshu through literature review, questionnaire survey and individual interview methods. After analyzing the respondents’ personal basic situation and training needs, it is concluded that the future teachers’ training for Changshu primary and secondary schools should focus on training goals and contents, the choice of training methods, the way of evaluation and training teachers. According to the investigation and analysis of basic situation of Changshu primary and secondary school teachers’ training, the training work has made great achievements in recent years, but there are also some problems, such as imbalance between training demand and supply, lack of new ideas and pertinence of training content, improvement of training time and mode, and single training evaluation method. The cause of the problem is that teachers’ understanding of continuing education is not comprehensive, teachers’ ignoring their own learning, it is difficult for schools to form the incentive mechanism under the current personnel system and it is also not easy to arouse the enthusiasm of learning, school authorities paid less attention to teachers’ training. The writer believes that in order to change the status of Changshu primary and secondary school teachers’ training, firstly, it needs the efforts of the superior and school authorities; secondly, it needs the efforts of various training institutions and at last it needs teachers’ own efforts. After the research, the writer put forward the following suggestions:to enhance investment in Changshu primary and secondary school teachers’ training, to strengthen the construction of teachers’ training agencies at various levels, to establish and perfect the system of Changshu primary and secondary school teachers’ training, to strengthen overall management of teachers’ training, to innovate Changshu teachers’ training forms and methods, to meet the individual needs of teachers, which is of great significance to effectively strengthen the work of teachers’ training in primary and secondary schools in Changshu.
