Respecting teachers is a part of Chinese good traditions, as well as an important component of our traditional education thought. It makes thousands of years of accumulated knowledge and wisdom to spread continuously, thus, brilliant Chinese civilization is able to be brightly outstanding and unfailing, Chinese wisdom can be widely known, charms never fading. As the earliest school regulation in our country, Dizizhi contains abundant education thoughts such as moral education, health education and civilization etiquette education, putting emphasis on concrete standards like the combination of life style and moral cultivation, the combination of simplicity education and etiquette forming education, the combination of classroom teaching and after class discussion, especially the combination of great attention on knowledge education and education of respecting teachers etiquette. This means important enlightenment significance to current education teaching practice.Based on related findings of domestic and foreign researches, this paper summarizes the main connotation of the thought of respecting teachers in Dizizhi, combs the historical origin and evolution through time sequence, takes practical condition into consideration, in order to illuminate the current social development of the thought of respecting teachers and its important value of times in educational practice. On the basis of theoretical analysis, the paper considers the severe realistic difficulties faced by the thought of respecting teachers, thoroughly analyzes the deep causes of the lose of the thought of respecting teachers. In this way, this paper points out the premise and guarantee of reconstructing the thought of respecting teachers under the new situation, and puts forward the realistic routine on respect of that. This paper aims to revitalize the great influence of this excellent traditional thought by guiding the public opinion, strengthening government support and improving school management, meanwhile providing lasting power and strong guarantee for the development of our education business along with the implementation of the strategy of invigorating our country through science and education as well as talented people.
