In recent years, with the vigorous development of China’s economy, society and culture,the ideological and political education and psychological health education are facing newchallenges. The simple way of ideological and political education is not suitable for thedevelopment of the teenagers because of its single form and boring content, which seriouslyignored the individual differences of teenagers. In the practical education, due to the lack ofcomprehensive understanding of ideological and political work and relevant knowledge ofpsychology, many education workers put all problems, especially the psychological problemas ideological and political problems, which will bring influences to the growth of theteenagers. Therefore, the issue that how to use the psychology methods in the ideological andpolitical education to strengthen the actual effect of it and make it more scientific, predictiveand targeted is a new topic for every educators, which is worth pondering and researching.Some practical methods were used in the paper, including the literature research,questionnaire survey, system method. Through the combination of ideological and politicaleducation and psychology, we discussed the intersection of ideological and political educationand mental health education. Then, some practical psychological principles and methods wereused in colleges and universities put forward some feasible methods then.Paper is divided into four parts: the first part mainly discussed the purpose of thesisresearch, domestic and foreign research status, the significance, ideas and methods of research,which lays the foundation to the research in the later chapters. The second part mainlysummarized the meaning of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Some current problems existing in the ideological and political education were revealed inthis part. The third part mainly put forward some psychology theories and methods which canbe used in ideological and political education. Such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory,the theory of individual differences and Pygmalion effect, etc. The fourth part mainly elaborated the effective ways of putting the ideological and political education into thepsychological theory.
